You make the decision that wellness is yours. C’mon, wellness, let’s get to it! You put on your new running shoes; you stock your fridge with fresh foods; you ohmmmmmmm.
And then …. you stop. You look around … you gasp. Hey, wellness, what’s with you? Excuse me, you royal pain in the booty, I’ve been doing my part. Where in the heck are YOU? I’m doing all this work, and I’m not seeing all the results. Heck, I’m not sure I’m seeing any results? If you’re gonna treat me this badly, well, then, I’m heading right back to the couch and my chips.
Yikes! What happened? What took place is this:
You planted a seed. A seed to grow wellness. A seed to move more. Another seed to eat some whole foods. A seed to de-stress. Perhaps a seed to simplify and/or play and/or connect more.
That seed’s germination period might be a couple months. Really, depending on your start point, that seed’s germination period might be even longer. But you waited only a few weeks, and then you kicked sand in its face. You stopped watering it. You stopped caring for it. And then – THEN! – you’re pissed off ‘cuz it didn’t flourish?
Back to the start point. This time, my way, ‘kay?
Plant the seeds. Nourish the seeds. Enjoy the seeds at their baby stage just as they are. Pay attention to the little signs that your seeds are growing: You’re feeling a little better; you have a bit more energy; your digestion is improved; your skin looks brighter; you sleep better; you didn’t catch the latest bug going around; you feel happier; you’re less stressed; you don’t get headaches as frequently. Yeah, your little seeds are growing!
Most of all, have faith. You can NOT plant all these little seeds and not benefit. It’s not possible. You honestly will have a crop one day. A crop that will allow you to live life on your terms. A crop that will save you thousands. A crop that will keep you out of the doc’s office. Those are darn worthwhile seeds to nurture!
If you plant your seeds of wellness, nurture them, have a little faith, and keep on keepin’ on, I can pretty much guarantee you that one day, you will look at yourself, and say: Wow, look at me! I’m freakin’ healthy!
Want more? Want help? Want my watering can?
This is so easy: Simply send an email to info@wellnessreinvented with the subject line: I need a watering can! You’ll get to set up a no-cost consultation that will clarify what seeds you want/need to plant, and also get a look at the healthy, new life they will bring you.
How much we all want to be gratified overnight—great post, Cindy! It took months and years of habits to build unhealthy bodies and old mindsets, so now it’s going to take some time to re-direct old energies. Planting seeds is the best metaphor for understanding the roots or foundation we need to develop to eventually arrive at great, vibrant health!
So true, Megan. For a little while, we just have to have faith that good things are growing. We’re used to instant everything, but, if we stay aware, we can notice that things truly are happening. And, soon enough, we arrive!
And what I remember from my last attempt at planting seeds was how many didn’t make it because they were so small, as well as their pots, and I didn’t pay enough attention and they got dried out and fewer made it to full tomato plant status!

Exactly! In our instant society, I think we’ve forgotten that some care and tending – and, more importantly, patience – is needed. It would be tragic to put in the effort to plant some wellness seeds (or, well, tomato seeds, too!), then not gain a thing from them. And, hey, if you plant tomatoes this year, can I have some?
Nothing like fresh, local produce; makes my mouth water. I’m good at wellness seeds; gardening talents, however, are a whole ‘nother story!
