A real orange gives you these 7 health benefits

orangeWe’ve become used to eating what I’m going to call pseudo-food. Because of that we lose touch with — and lose the taste and appreciation for — how amazing the original actually is.

What the heck am I talking about? Let’s use an orange as an example. Below are seven great reasons for eating an actual orange vs. drinking concentrated juice or, the worst choice, thinking you’re getting fruit in boxed products you buy. (Read – Those blueberries in your cereal? Probably made from petrochemicals – for more on this).

What an orange does for you:

  1. Provides pectin (fiber) that can help suppress your appetite, lower cholesterol and keep your blood sugar levels under control.
  2. Activates your body’s natural detoxification process.
  3. Gives you a natural substance that helps protect you from cancers of the skin, mouth, lungs, breasts, stomach and colon.
  4. Lowers your risk of heart disease, rheumatoid arthritis and kidney stones.
  5. May help to prevent age-related illnesses.
  6. Dishes up natural vitamin C that helps with wound healing and resistance to disease.
  7. Helps your skin look younger.

You just don’t get that out of a box. It’s not possible. Oh, sure, food manufacturers may try to pump enough artificial crap into that box to attempt to do that. And then spend millions convincing you it’s just as good as what nature grew. Guess what? It’s not. It never can be. Skip the ads, skip the fancy label and, instead, grab the unadorned food in its pure state. That’s what will buy you wellness.
