How can 5 minutes give you good health?

In this blog, I’ve given you plenty of, in effect, 5-minute ways to live healthier. But why? Doesn’t really matter in the long run, does it? What can 5 minutes possibly do?

I’ve talked about these plenty because I want you to see wellness as something that’s easier and more possible – even more fun – than you probably thought it was. That’s one goal. The other – to also help you realize that 5 minutes can be pretty damn effective, too.

Here’s what you may think so far:

You need to move your body more but that means you have to:

  • Find a gym, see if you can afford the gym, figure out how to use stuff at the gym, actually go to the gym.
  • Figure out what the heck you can do – or even want to do. Or will do.
  • Spend hours doing whatever the hell you decided … every blasted week.

You need to eat better. So that means you:

  • Have to figure out what eat better even freaking means anymore.
  • Buy all the weird stuff that = eating healthier.
  • Find time to throw away the junk you’re currently eating.
  • Work more so you can afford to throw away the junk and buy the new stuff.
  • Spend more time cooking vs. driving through.

Stress is rampant. You know it. You know it’ll make you sick. But to deal with it, you have to:

  • Learn to meditate. Find time to meditate hours per day. Work on sitting cross legged.
  • Get a new job because there’s no way you can lower stress when your boss is a fucking asshole.
  • Find time to update your resume, find more connections, look for said job.
  • Learn new job, find out some parts still stress you out. Back to figuring out how to sit cross legged.

ARRGHHH!! It doesn’t have to go like this for you to be well. Really. No shit. Let me help. So, here are some ideas I’ve written about already:

Five minutes that will help you feel better

Wellness in a short and sweet but powerful step

Health fix in an instant

5 ways to relieve your stress in 5 minutes

Heath bites to live on now

5 tips to magically fit in movement

There are plenty more examples and ideas. But the concept you need to get here is this:

To live a fully well life, 5 minutes counts. Small actions matter. Doing something today is more important than waiting till you have a week off to make a year-long plan. The year-long plan – or, gasp, those freakin’ New Year’s resolutions – probably won’t ever get really put into action. But 5 minutes? Oh, yeah, it’s hugely possible. In fact, I just felt you take a deep breath and relax at the thought of only figuring out 5 minutes.
